BITOSSI CERAMIC HORSE
Vintage Bitossi ceramic horse in the classic Rimini Blu glaze. Iconic hand-thrown Italian pottery in white fire-clay. Bitossi, under the guidance of Aldo Londi famously created the spectacular colour glaze inspired by the beautiful Adriatic Sea off the coast of Rimini in Italy in the 1950s.
Stamped Flavia Montelupo Italy on the underside. Flavia & Bitossi are in essence two different arms of the same company, both owned by Gruppo Colorobbia. Post 1976, most of the decorative arts pieces were marked Flavia, up until 1999 when they reverted to using Bitossi. Some older pieces will be stamped with both or just one of either Bitossi/Flavia.
